ABC Radio Australia
On Friday, December 23, 2011, I was invited by ABC Radio Australia to do an interview on my Tales from Nanumea series. I won’t lie, I was really nervous from the time I received the email to the time I went live. Fortunately for me, the nervousness dissipated once I focused on what I knew, as opposed to what I didn’t.

Here’s the interview:

The guy who interviewed me was Clement Paligaru. He was very easy to talk to and did a pretty good job of not making me feel nervous. He was patient, calm and seemed to know exactly when to speak once I finished speaking. I think I’ll take a few points from him!

At the beginning of the interview, you may be able to tell that I was nervous, because I managed to answer some questions without answering them – then fly off on a tangent, all the while forgetting about the question. I might be a bit harsh on myself, but it was my first time and I’m always going to look for ways to improve!

If you have any feedback on the interview, please feel free to leave your comments below – I’m more than open to hear what you have to say (good or bad)!

Special thanks to ABC Radio Australia, Clement Paligaru, Kenya Kala, Bethany Keats, and the rest of the crew who helped me out with the interview!

  1. NICELY DONE SIOSI! You really relaxed as the conversation went along. I love how you said- we feel threatened when we don’t know who we are- I agree. I have heard it said with the variant that we need to know ‘Who’s’ we are! You are doing a powerful work as a forerunner for this culture. Keep exploring and forging ahead with creative new ideas. Love you! Aunty Jenny
